Owners of industrial land, commercial buildings, or large rooftops with grid access now have a unique opportunity to enter this emerging market. High-capacity battery storage systems can perform like small power plants – responding within milliseconds, producing no emissions, requiring no fuel, and taking up minimal space. Under the right conditions, such systems can deliver stable monthly revenues and a strong return on investment.

In early 2025, the Czech Parliament approved new legislation enabling stand-alone battery storage systems to be connected directly to the grid – something that was not previously allowed. This regulatory shift paves the way for wider deployment of battery solutions and aligns the Czech market more closely with international standards. The law, referred to as Lex OZE III, will take effect on July 1, 2025.
Most battery projects are connected to the grid via an aggregator – a specialized partner that combines multiple systems into a single virtual unit, managing dispatch, compliance, and communication with the transmission system operator.
At Greenbuddies, we specialize in large-scale battery storage solutions. We guide our partners through the entire process – from grid connection applications to the final handover of a fully operational system ready for aggregation.
